My Tiny Things and Aloha Epilogue
Because of no reason whatsoever (and because I just remembered this stuff now), here's a Lisa's Sampler of Security Issues that occurred during my recent Toronto and Hawaii adventures . . . (BTW, you know those little brochures about Stephen Whitman's grandmother in the Whitman's Samplers? I used to write those.)
-- At the Toronto airport I was pulled out of line for having an illegal apple. There were FOUR agents in the Agricultural Inspection room. And me. And my apple. It (the offending apple) was examined, then tossed. I was scared that I too would be tossed. Instead, I was sent out a side door, where I promptly bought a new apple that looked suspiciously like my old one. Hmmmm . . . apple scam?
-- Also at the Toronto airport, the security guy told me, "You have very nice tiny things." (I hope he was referring to the small plastic bottles I carry with lotion and whatnots.)
-- In Hawaii, I was admonished by a security guard for taking this photo. My almost-cousin-Tina and I ran away before I could be arrested. Offending photo . . .

And here are some great photos that almost-cousin-Tina (she's a professional photographer) took . . .

(Above: Here I am with my victim, er, volunteer, at the Book Festival.)
The kids seem to enjoy the presentation . . .

Later I signed books. Here's author Mia King's adorable daughter . . .

Peepy (who informed me that she's a girl Peep) went native at the Royal house/building/temple/I forgot what it was called, but I wanted to live there . . .

Here, Peepy is complaining because I referred to her as a "him" earlier. Only, I am ignoring her rants and thinking, "Oh, you're so cute!" (And for the record, Peepy is plush, not marshmallow and I promise I will not blow her up.) . . .

Right before almost-cousin-Tina took us to the airport, she introduced us to Leonard's Hawaiian DONUTS also know as malasadas! (I hand carried a box home) . . .

On my last Blog, Cheri asked how I could be in Hawaii and on television in Michigan on the same day. Easy. I am a human clone. Either that, or when a television crew came to my house to do a story about women who risked financial security to follow their passion, the segment that they shot is now running! (That last sentence was waaay too long. Just wanted you to know that I know.)
Here's the segment when it ran in another state (Texas). I can't see it because computers don't like me, but maybe it will work on yours.
Oh! Oh, oh, and So Totally Emily Ebers is mentioned in the June issue of Family Circle as a "Hot Pick," plus it got a "Ravin' Review" in Discovery Girls magazine!
