Five Years of Author-ness!
I'm in Frisco, Texas this week and will be blogging about it when I get home. In the meantime, this . . .

All my life I wanted to be an author. It was my dream.

However, it wasn't until my mid-life crisis that I decided/needed to really give it a try.

Five years ago my first novel was published by Arthur A. Levine Books. Since then I've had three more novels come out. Next year two more books and a story in an anthology will be released.

It's unreal.

What's it like being an author? Well, it's the best job in the world . . .

	Happy Authorversary! (That really is a cool word!) Wonderful collage. I knew when Millicent Min first came out that you would be an author I'd want to read a lot more of, and that we would definitely see more of your work coming. Well, it's been fun watching you evolve from this end. I remember when you first spoke at the SCBWI conference in LA and thinking, "If she could do it, so can I." And now I am, and it's fun to see your progress, it's like seeing into the future..."if she can write 5 books then maybe so can I..." It's good to see good people succeed. It gives one hope and that's all we need. And to do it with joy and class...well, you'll be around for a long time to come...

	Hooray! I have such admiration for you and the great attitude that comes through your blog. I love the photos . . . but I have to admit, when if I were there for the second to the last one, the one on the deck (or dock?) over the water, the temptation to pat you on the back a leetle too hard would've been impossible to resist!
