Five Years of Author-ness!
I'm in Frisco, Texas this week and will be blogging about it when I get home. In the meantime, this . . .

All my life I wanted to be an author. It was my dream.
Photobucket However, it wasn't until my mid-life crisis that I decided/needed to really give it a try.

Five years ago my first novel was published by Arthur A. Levine Books. Since then I've had three more novels come out. Next year two more books and a story in an anthology will be released.

It's unreal.

What's it like being an author? Well, it's the best job in the world . . .

May the next five years be even better than the first!

Happy Authorversary! (That really is a cool word!) Wonderful collage. I knew when Millicent Min first came out that you would be an author I'd want to read a lot more of, and that we would definitely see more of your work coming. So glad you've been hittin' the big time. :-D And LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog posts, you are one funny lady.

It really is all that and a box of donuts, isn't it? Sometimes I pinch myself and sing that old Steve Martin refrain "And I get paid for doing this!" Then I sing his song about picking out a thermos.

Thanks for sharing the great pics!
Have a great weekend!

Well, it's been fun watching you evolve from this end. I remember when you first spoke at the SCBWI conference in LA and thinking, "If she could do it, so can I." And now I am, and it's fun to see your progress, it's like seeing into the future..."if she can write 5 books then maybe so can I..." It's good to see good people succeed. It gives one hope and that's all we need. And to do it with joy and class...well, you'll be around for a long time to come...

Funny that you led with the Nancy Pearl plug. I think she was one of the first places I ever heard of you and M.M. I was aflame with jealousy! But then I read the book... Pearl was right! M.M. is amazing and so are you! Congratulations on five years of real characters with real voices!

Hooray! I have such admiration for you and the great attitude that comes through your blog. I love the photos . . . but I have to admit, when if I were there for the second to the last one, the one on the deck (or dock?) over the water, the temptation to pat you on the back a *leetle* too hard would've been impossible to resist! And then Peepy would pummel me, I'm sure.
